First off, here's the 32 week pic. Baby, baby!!
Praise God the meeting with the insurance adjuster went great yesterday! He was extremely thorough and seemed to be very honest. In fact, he's an ordained Southern Baptist minister who recently came back home from the mission field with his family! Seems like the Lord may have had a hand in this assignment... :)
After surveying all of the damage, he confirmed my fear that there's a good chance our home repairs may not be completed by the time the baby arrives. Any of you that know me well know that I'm an idealist when it comes to my family, so that was the toughest news to hear. HOWEVER, I know that God is right here with us, and he has not in any way overlooked the fact that we have a baby coming in 8 weeks, and He is going to take care of all three of us as only He can. :)
As for the repairs... On the exterior, the chimney, a portion of the roof, and the ceiling over our back patio will all be replaced. On the interior, however, we are having major demolition and remodeling!! Two living room walls and one master bath wall are being completely torn down and rebuilt thanks to internal water damage. The living room wood floor is being replaced, as is the carpet in the master bedroom and closet, along with new baseboards. Of course the living room ceiling is also being repaired and completely redone (to fix that little hole in the ceiling issue we have!), as well as part of the ceiling in the bathroom. The entire living room and master bath will be repainted. The air ducts will be cleaned. Everything will be sprayed with an antimicrobial to prevent further mold/mildew growth. So essentially, half of our downstairs will be brand new!
The prayer requests now are:
1) that our adjuster's report will be filed quickly so that our check can be sent to us and we can begin the demoliltion and remodeling. (The estimate is 2 weeks, but we're praying for the report to be filed much sooner!)
2) that we will find reputable contractors who can fit us into their already packed schedules soon.
3) safety over the baby during this entire process!
